Well, I finally completed a pin woven piece. I have to say I am a little disappointed in the results. I really like a very tight weave. Like the weave I get from the soumak stitch. You can see the soumak stitch in my rings from Ring-a-Day. They are nice and tightly woven.
The plain weave here is very hard to get tight enough. Even with the fork. I push and push to compact the "threads".
Anyway, I don't know if I will do anymore of these. They also take 3 or 4 times as long as the ones using the soumak stich. I just may call it a day with this type of weaving. It most likely works better with textiles than silver.
Well, it was fun and a learning experience and this, after all, is what it is all about.
