Finished piece with faux bronze beads

I finished this piece today in between taking my dad to the eye doctor and picking my grandson up after school.

I really like the way it turned out. I am happy that I found a way to use some of the gazillion beads I am making. The tubes are like tiny canvases for me.

One of my online friends suggested that I try Gilders paste. Right now I am using pearl ex and I just love what it does for the clay. But I am going to give the Gilders paste a try as well and see which I like best. Perhaps both.

I also ordered some alcohol inks and will give them a try as well. I have seen some very interesting things being done with alcohol inks and translucent clay. I can't wait to try it but right now I seem heavily wedded to black and bronze.

There are so many roads to go down with polymer. I find it a source of endless fascination to see what other artists are doing with this material. Everyone has their own special unique look.

There is one artist in particular who really impresses me with her creativity and what she does with translucent clay and gold leaf. Her name is Donna Greenberg and her work can be found here.
