Bead tutorial

Recently I bought a new tutorial from Lynda Moseley on making these wonderful beads. I had been having some trouble making round beads that looked solid and well crafted. I knew the answer wasn't a bead roller.

In this tutorial, Lynda teaches you to make your beads in layers. Something I would have never thought of. It works really well. You get your round shape and then add your textured pieces to that. The addition of bead caps and smaller caps around the hole complete the bead. I find it a very satisfying way of making beads.

I also purchased her faux jade tutorial and made a few of the jade colors. I am not used to working in translucent clay though and so far am not happy with my results.

I need to do more sanding on them to see if it is something I want to continue with.

Oh and before I forget I did make it into the Brookline Art Center's Artist Marketplace show in December. I am very happy about that and look forward to someone else seeing my work besides me and my family!

My word, this bead looks like it is really metal. Awesome creation!
