Sketchbook Challenge January doodles

I have no idea how I found this web site called The Sketchbook Challenge but I did and now I am hooked.

Every year I buy a new sketchbook in January and try and fill it with ideas, sketches etc. It works well for the shapes and overall design of jewelry pieces but for polymer I seem to do much better when I just design straight into the polymer clay.

So I decided that I would try doing the challenge directly in the clay. As you can see on the left, I have left 3 holes for connecting the "book" when I am done. Although I am not positive that is going to work. There are two things I don't like about leaving the holes and that is they take up a lot of space on the small page and the book may end up being too thick. I may just bind the individual months together instead of the entire year. That could prove to be too cumbersome.

I hope I can keep it up because it is helping me free up my jewelry designs which I think have become too repetitive for my liking.

We'll see. One day at a time.
