Ink, Print, Repeat......

I have been playing around with my linocuts on strips of BFK print paper. I like these.

This one looks very African. What a wild piece of cloth that would make! There is something very active about repeating patterns. Especially when you turn the same pattern in a variety of directions.

I am really enjoying printmaking. Carving the blocks is a very zen activity and helps a lot with stress.

But who has stress right? Right.

Cool carving. I can imagine it's very zen. Sorry things have been stressful. Be sure to take care of yourself too!

Hi Roberta- I feel you are a kindred spirit! I've loved carving blocks ever since I was a teenager. There is still a thrill in inking up (or applying paint) for the first time to a new block. Then the playing begins...turning the block, overprinting...ooo...so much fun! Love these new prints (and yes...please try on some fabric!).--Julie

I love your prints - they look very organic. I also love the look of black and white and the repetitive pattern. Wonderful creations!

Gutsy prints with a touch of Afro as you suggested. I can see these made into a little artist book on a yummy rag paper.
