A Color Chart and A Website

It has been over a week since I wrote anything. Sorry about that. I had some gum surgery this week so I have been a little under the weather. I still can’t eat solid food and I DO SO NEED A BAGEL!

Since I am taking it easy this week I decided to create this color chart of Golden paint swatches. I got the idea from a posting on Golden’s facebook page and thought it was a great idea. Now if I need to see what a color really looks like I just look at my swatches. I also like the way it shows what the color looks like with white added. So no surprises! It comes as a poster so you have to cut it up and laminate it. I don’t have a laminating machine and so I just used an iron.

I decided that I did not want to join the colors with rings as they did in their photo. I have placed them in a binder with rings holding the pages together. This way I can bring it along to the art store or when I buy online and use it in a way that I can compare and contrast colors better. I like seeing them in relation to one another this way.

The other thing I have been doing is working on a new website. I decided that I am in too many places. Flickr, Facebook, Twitter, Etsy, Instagram, Pinterest……….sheesh. And then people tell me they can’t find my website! Well, maybe that is because I didn’t have one! DUH! Imagine being in all those places and yet none of them are a personal web site. So I bit the bullet and bought a domain.

You can see the new site here.

This is a way I can show people what I am doing, what I have done in the past, my artist statement, and a little about me. I am hoping to be able to add a shopping cart to it as well. But for now it is set up as a gallery only. Although there is a contact form if anyone is interested in purchasing something from there. I like the way the images open up larger and one can scroll through them. Anyway it is an ongoing project and should keep me busy while I mend.

the website is fantastic! It's wonderfully easy to navigate and really showcases your work. I quite like the clean simplicity of it, with the bold graphic on the home page. Well done! (and I hope there is a bagel in your near future)
