And the Printing Goes On.....

The "Florilegium" series continues. I am still going strong with this series. I have no idea when it will end and I will move on to a new series but I am in no hurry. I am enjoying the dance!

And I am learning that it is indeed a dance with these. Light to dark and back again. Shape shifting a little to the right here, a little to the left there.

I had originally designed this mask to hang from the top of the page as berries would. But, alas, it was not working. I thought it was just a bad mask. So I put it aside and when I did I put the first pass upside down. And there it was. It looked right that way.

So I began layering by just moving the mask ever so slightly. and the motion started.

If there is no motion in a piece then to me it is not yet successful. When it begins to move then I know it is on its way to being complete. The trick is in knowing when to stop. It isn't always obvious!

The colors are evocative of autumn (at least to me, longing for it).

your prints are gorgeous Roberta and I love that you speak of layering in printmaking. That's something I love to do with cloth and to hear of it used in a different way is fascinating
